The PC Pay® device has incorporated into its design the ability to self-destruct the contents of any potentially useful confidential data such as an encryption key if the device is opened. However, even if the attacker manages to circumvent the interlocks to detect opening of the device, there are many other physical layers of protection to prevent the very experienced attacker from gaining access to the encryption keys or other potential useful data.
